WHAT WE BELIEVE

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday,
 today, and tomorrow.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth to reign as our powerful King.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We seek to live under his control daily.

People

People are made in the image of God to be like him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God.

The Bible

This Bible is God’s Word to all people, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is without error, given to man so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God given to any person who puts their faith in Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Lord and Savior. This gift of salvation includes an immediate restoration of a person’s relationship with God, and through the work of the Holy Spirit, a lifetime of continuing transformation of that person’s character into the character of Jesus Christ.

Eternity

Eternity is how long we were created to exist with God. Every person will either exist eternally in union with God in heaven through following Jesus Christ or eternally separated from God in hell due to our refusal to follow Him. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ on earth and is made up of those who have placed their faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Jesus, obeying His commands, and representing Jesus Christ to a needy world. The church works together in love and unity, with the ultimate goal of
following and honoring Jesus.
